Life Through the Eyes of an Everyday Man...

Random Blabberings and Personal News...
The Everday Man

Sorry to my readers for my long absence but this week hasn’t been good to me. As you may have read I am presently battling bronchitis which has given me bouts of fever. And this week is also crunch time for me in post grad school because final exams are fast approaching. I must say that for the upcoming week or two I wouldn’t be able to update like I used to for the mean time because I’ve got to somehow find time to MEMORIZE EIGHT BOOKS to be able to ace my finals.

1. Despite having a fever the other day I managed to go to the mall for no real purpose really but just to survey the place if there was anything worth buying. To my readers who probably don’t have a clue with what hobbies I have I actually collect curios and art pieces. From your useless two thousand year old Roman glass bottles to paintings (I gotta have them all!). As I passed by my trusted antiques dealer she presented me with this breath taking century old ivory piece. It was of Spanish origin and was a carving of an infant. Well also breath taking (and I mean this literally) was when she mentioned the price--- US$1145 for something ONLY THREE INCHES BIG!!! Upon hearing those words--- US$1145… it almost crippled me.

But staying true to my obsessive mindset I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT!!! I keep thinking how life would be better with that US$1145 no bigger than my thumb ivory piece (and which upon purchasing I will probably regret buying anyways). So far I have resisted the urge to splurge as my mind thinks of wonderful objects d’ art which can be designed for the piece.

Despite my incessant blabbering I am pretty sure you want a clear cut image of what I am talking about. Forgive me for forgetting to take pictures but I PROMISE that if I pass be the dealer once again (which I probably will) I will take a picture. I hope that cellular phone cameras are fine because I am still reluctant to lug around a camera which if I do bring will probably make my upper quadriceps look like there is a bulky mass growing out of it.

2. Despite having a near mental breakdown the other day due to the stress of studying coupled with the myriad of things that this busy bee is trying to but failing to juggle surprisingly studying with an illness has somewhat motivated me once again to go through with it.

3. In other personal news meet the new addition to our family… CHICO the ten month old Pomeranian whom we purchased yesterday.

(Picture taken at the breeder's)

My day’s resolution--- I promise to post further blog entries!!! So keep posted…

Random News, Happenings and Personal Bouts…
The Everday Man
The stress of everyday life is really getting to me… The other day as I tried on my usual size of pants I thought to myself “odd this seems baggy, is this material stretch?” But yesterday it dawned on me NO the pants weren’t stretch the fact was I had mindlessly lost FOUR pounds over the past week. So starting yesterday I embarked on a bingefest to try to gain it back because frankly I don’t need to lose any more weight. But despite feeling like an overfed humpty dumpty yesterday as of weighting myself today I didn’t even gain a pound…

My immune system is going haywire recently. Today I have been to two doctors. First was with my Pulmonologist turns out I have “mild acute bronchitis” and I am now on a slew of prescription meds for the next ten days. Second was with my Dermatologist. I have been having frequent bouts of allergy and it’s really been irking me. Nothing is worse than feeling itchy. So now I have to take a second batch of meds as needed. And now as I am typing this I am coming down with a fever…

The root cause of all these??? STRESS… I just don’t know what I’m going to do anymore. Post grad studies is starting to feel like a chore… Something which I have to do as opposed to something I enjoy. It started out great I used to love studying heck I was a scholar during my university days but now my heart isn’t where it used to be. I just feel compelled to try to finish it because everyday men like me don’t just throw away a few grand just for the fun of it. Anyways I am marking my calendar because April 10 is the end of this major chip on my shoulder. After that I need to decide… carry on? or just stop…

Now enough of the dramafest and let’s move on…

1. I don’t know if you have watched Sir Anthony Hopkins’ movie “The Rite” but there was something oddly coincidental yet creepy that happened to me right after I watched that movie a few months ago. You know the part were the kid had “hoof marks or hoof marked bruises” all over his body because the demon mule kicked him in his dreams? Well the day after I watch that movie I suddenly developed hoof marked bruises over my legs!!! YES it is true I am not lying!!! Even my sisters were freaked out. Why didn’t I take a picture??? Why on earth would I? I don’t want some creepy remembrance of something of that nature… Coincidental? Yes. Odd? Yes, I mean they were literally hoof marks!!! And were literally the size of a horse’s foot!!! Who the hell develops hoof marks out of the blue??? Did I also dream of a demonic mule? NO… And gladly so! Anyways it was weeks before it disappeared. But to this day I don’t know why I developed those seeing as nothing happened to me that would cause such an injury…

2. In an interview with La Repubblica Premier Silvio Berlusconi said that he was too old for so much sex…Oh come on now Mr. Berlusconi don’t be so modest. How old are you 75? Haven't you heard of vaigra or cialis? Look at Mickey Mouse despite being 82 years of age looks like he’s still getting it on…

3. Few things break my heart and this is one of them… This video shows the animal victims of the Japan tsunami tragedy. Here a dog despite being disoriented and out in the cold remains protective of his “friend” who was at a more critical condition.

"The Ultimate Loyalty"

This is an English translation of what the reporter and the camera man are saying:

We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.

He has a collar. He must be someone's pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.

Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.

Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.

The dog is protecting him.

Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.

I can't watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.

Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive.

Yes! Yes! He is alive.

He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon.

Oh good. He's getting up.

It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It's just amazing that they survived through this all.

Well the good news is after the video was aired both dogs were rescued. The more critical one was brought to a clinic to be treated while the more “protective” one was brought to a shelter. Both are at the Japanese city of Mito.

Anyways, HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY to my readers who celebrate it!!!

And in honor of this celebration I present to you what else? The perfect green shoe...

Al-Shamikha… A WTF??? Moment…
The Everday Man

Front page cover of Al-Shamikha. With a woman in Burqa and a machine gun.

Ladies, living in hiding has got you down? The mujahedeen at you bedside is being a bit cold? Want to help out hubby with his work?

Well your psychotic PRAYERS have been answered because Al Qaeda has just launched Al-Shamikha
The Lifestyle Magazine for the Modern day Jihadist Women!!! WTF?!…………………………………………………………………........

Sorry laughing has rendered me speechless for a while there.

Topics covered include:

1. For the singles--- How to find Mr. Right by marrying a mujahedeen.

2. Skin Care--- Keep a clear complexion by covering you face and staying indoors. And ONLY, ONLY go out if it is of the utmost importance. But even then wear a Niqāb. But personally I think they prefer the Burqa over the Niqāb seeing as ALL the women in the magazine were in Burqas.

Which makes me think--- Who's next issue's centerfold Burqa???

3. Life Advice--- Raising children to be mujahedeen, Hailing your husband for being a suicide bomber, Giving your life for the Islamist cause and how “From martyrdom, the believer will gain security, safety and happiness."

Anyways seeing as I can’t read Arabic I just looked at the photos of--- a woman wearing a Burqa, a banner with what I suppose are some “terrorist slogan”, some terrorist men, bullets, a boy crying over his dead father, a boy throwing stones at a an army tank and what looks like a photo of some men beating up a woman in Burqa (yet again).

Interested (then you're SICK)???

If that has left you wanting more don’t fret because the next issue will tackle more tips on skin care and how to wage electronic jihad… But I am surprised though that there aren't any articles on how to survive an acid attack, being stoned to death or flogging or what about how NOT to get an education...

Blond & Blue Eyed… Clément Chabernaud…
The Everday Man

Are you blond? Are you blond with blue eyes? No but I love Clément Chabernaud. And people like you ought to know it today. Your mothers, your forefathers would all be wearing Jill Sander, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Roberto Cavalli and Jill Sander for Uniqlo…

Yes it's true Clément Chabernaud is one of my “MOWdelling” heroes. Well he and Sean O’Pry at least. Never mind the blond and blue eyes, if only I can grow two inches more and be an inch slimmer allover then everything would just be perfect…

But since I live in the real world were imperfection is the norm I must just accept that I am unique.

And always remember this--- DIFFERENT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!

Anyways Vogue Hommes International just did a fashion spread entitled “Shore Leave” with Clément Chabernaud as the model. Here he dawns on nautical inspired ensembles as he takes on the role of a sailor on shore leave.

I just love how this fashion spread isn’t your typical “look at me I’m wearing so & so”. It has a depth to it. You are brought in by the raw images and your mind is forced to think up a story line that best suits what you see…

1. Take a look at these bags…

Beaver Fur Bag Packs

I mean fur is beautiful and all but these are just too GAUDY for me…

And if fur is not your thing how about this…

All Over Dog Print Bag Pack

Don’t you think it’s a little too Christian Audigier (read--- Ed Hardy)???
And anything with the words Ed Hardy in it is bound to be for guys in the middle of a midlife crisis.

Just remember this mantra---

Ed Hardy… Bad, Hardy Amies… Good

and repeat

Ed Hardy… Bad, Hardy Amies… Good

2. I just hate how a B-List Kpop group has jumped the bandwagon of accusing Lady Gaga of plagiarism. Trying to get some publicity eh?! It's so sad how some people are just opportunistic...

I can’t wait for this one--- The Hangover: Part 2…

I enjoyed the first one so I have high expectations for this one.

4. Looky, Looky at what I found…

Diesel Limiss Zip Off Sleeve Leather Jacket

The leather alone screams quality.

Duffer of St George Palmers Shawl Collar Sweat Cardigan

Told you the “Back to School” trend was big…

Ben Sherman Tipped Merino Cardigan

Doesn’t it look similar to the one I featured on the previous post??? the one by Shipley & Halmos.
Plus it’s hell of a lot cheaper! About THREE TIMES CHEAPER!!!

ASOS Gladiator Sandals

I’m not really one to wear sandals but when I saw this visions of Russell Crowes’ Gladiator came to mind.

Boxfresh Switch Leather Hi-Top Trainers

Vans Zapato Del Barco Plimsolls

H By Hudson Garret Walking Boots

5. Ok I am scared now. You see I ordered some wool sweaters and a bunch of sports shirts from Polo Ralph Lauren awhile back. And I ordered them in a size medium. But seeing the model wearing a size medium in the Duffer of St George Palmers has made me nervous "medium" looks too large for me!!!

Why not just return it? Well for starters they were shipped on February but the projected arrival date is at the end of the month up to April. Why so long? Well that’s the third world for ya!

Well the sports shirts can always be altered but how do you exactly alter wool sweaters??? Keeping my fingers crossed xx Hoping for the best. But what if it really is too large? Looks like I need to find a willing buyer here in the third world. Well good luck with that seeing as most the time its 30°C or 86°F here in our Little Islands…
